Pain as an ultimate motivator to change

Couple weeks ago I had a great discussion with my friend about the pain and the real drive to change.
All around us from time to time we can observe that someone whom we know decided to do something unusual. Make a big change, switch in his/her life and move out/start travelling/quit job or anything different.
But have you ever thought of what is really behind that change? What's driving that person?

As the title of this post suggest I am a strong believer that in most cases the ultimate motivator to change is just pain. If we go deep inside that person mindset by asking "why?" we can get to the real truth.
Everytime someone from my friends decides to pluck up the courage and do somethin different I wonder why and try to extract that from that person.
"We change our behavior when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing."
What is often a common fact is that these people are fed up with they job or relationship. Then comes the personal level of pain tolerance as I call it. That level can differ from one person to another. Once you reach that level there comes the power and momentum to change.
We don't change because of fear or will. Behind every fear and willingness there is a pain on some level of our personality.

So honestly, in my opinion, with a great pain comes a great change. The upside to this is also that change  makes people stronger, expands the horizons and can be turned into wisdom.
Is it possible to change without the pain? Well, I would say yes and no. Yes, because we could be so motivated that nothing is going to stop us and our action. No however, because I believe that very deep inside, somewhere in our subconsciousness there is that pain which led to our action - we could just not see it or didn't bother to recognize it.
So if you feel that you are not ready to change, then you are not in enough pain ;)

Move on UP!

Ok, let's do it! Time has finally come to start that small blog.
Its main goal is to help me and you become the best and most authentic version of ourselves.
Because of my high ambitious plans and goals I want to stay accountable in fron of myself of my actions and be able to look back in the past in couple of months and see where I've gone and whom I've become.

Why call it Move On UP?
Well, the name comes from the song of Curtis Mayfield - Move On Up. What makes me especially a fan of that song is its lyrics and its true wisdom and value that in my opinion we can and we should incorporate in our lives on a daily basis:

"...
Move on up, and keep on wishing
Remember your dream is your only scheme
So keep on pushing
Take nothing less, than the second best
Do not obey, you must keep your say
You can past the test
Just move on up, to a greater day
With just a little faith
If you put your mind to it you can surely do it"

So let's move on UP! And let's get started TODAY!
